It should also be remembered that in rain and cold weather the electric scooter is more difficult to control, as it is slippery on the road, which means that steering and braking distance are impaired.

Design of an electric scooter
The design of the electric scooter is similar to the usual, except that it appeared an electric motor and everything that is necessary for its operation. The main components of the electric scooter are:

Bearing frame. This is the basis of the structure, on which all the other equipment is hinged and fixed. It is made of metal (mainly aluminum and its alloys) or carbon.

The bottom of the deck has a recess that houses the battery and control electronics.
Wheels and electric motor. Usually on a scooter, the front wheel is a swivel slave, the rear wheel is a drive wheel. However, there are also front-wheel drive versions, as well as models in which both wheels are leading. There are two types of drive wheels. The first option – the motor-wheel. In this case, the electric drive is built directly into the wheel. The second is the drive wheel, which is driven by a chain transmission from an electric motor installed on the frame. Wheels also come in tubeless and tubeless and vary in diameter from 4 to 12 inches.
Brakes. Electric scooters use electric or disc brakes. The first does not allow you to make a quick stop, but during use it recharges the battery a little and does not require maintenance. The disc brake effectively dampens high speed, but requires regular maintenance. Ease of operation, storage, care. Electric scooters are compact, especially folding models. They are easy to store in a small closet apartment, carried in the trunk of the car or on the hands in the subway. Even easier to use: just take it outside, stand up and go. Powerful, resourceful models are characterized by relatively low weight with a solid load capacity up to 150 kg. In the care unpretentious: you need to periodically wash the wheels, wipe with a damp sponge housing, lubricate the moving parts, do not forget to charge the battery.
The variety of models. They differ in electric motor power, size. As well as the number and type of wheels, type of shock absorption and battery. They can be with or without a seat. For example, an ergonomic saddle reduces the load on the back and legs, which will please those who like to move in comfort. And units without a seat are ideal for young and athletic riders who don’t have a hard time standing in motion.

Electric bikes still look like a gimmick on city streets: they go noticeably faster than conventional bikes, while the cyclist hardly ever pedals (and sometimes does not pedal at all!).

In short, each such bicycle has an electric motor, which gets its energy from the battery and drives the wheel. The battery is mounted on the rack, on the frame, or built into the frame – depending on the model of bike. There are front-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive models, and they are powered by a motor-wheel with a built-in motor. Another option is the carriage drive, which engages both wheels and is located near the pedals.

All electric bikes also have a controller – it controls the electronics and transmits the current between the components. Another important part is the on-board computer. On its screen you can monitor the battery charge, power consumption mode and speed.

In different ways. Throttle-mode electric bikes can ride without any human involvement – like mopeds, for example. The driver doesn’t pedal and just enjoys the road. Another option is models with assisted steering. They do not do everything for you, but only help to pedal: the motor is connected at startup, acceleration and in difficult areas, and you control its power. With these models, you have to pedal, but with much less effort than on mechanical bikes. So you can cover really long distances, climb steep hills, and not get tired, even without athletic training. Assist saves battery power and doesn’t take away from the pleasure and benefit of cycling.

How much can I ride on one battery charge?
It depends on its power. To plan a ride, you have to sit down and calculate – you have to divide the battery capacity (listed in watt-hours on the bike’s data sheet) by 12.5. The resulting number is the distance the bike will travel without recharging. But keep in mind that this formula is only suitable for throttle electric bikes, which ride without human intervention. If, on the other hand, the motor runs in spin assist mode, a single charge will also suffice for several long rides in a row.

What should you do if the bike runs out of power in the process?

Monocycle is first of all a modern personal mobile transport. Someone who is going to master this type of transport is definitely a person with a fine sense of balance in motion, able to enjoy life, prone to some risk, keen, athletic, with an active lifestyle.

The monocoach is a high-tech, knowledge-intensive technical means of transportation for one person. And like most modern technical devices, it combines an impressive simplicity of design and construction with a rich scientific and technical history of evolution. Today, it’s easy to see the design in photos of the monocycle on the web pages of stores and manufacturers. You can also get some insight by watching videos of monocycles posted online. And, of course, better than a photo of a monocoach is its test drive, when you can feel the device in your hands. However, it is unlikely to see the internal device, because the monocoach is a one-piece, virtually indestructible unit in operating conditions.

Structurally, the monocycle is a motor vehicle based on an electric motor powered by a battery. In this sense, the design of the monocycle has close and distant relatives, depending on each of its parts.

Monocycle and electric motor
So what’s in a monocoach from an electric motor? It’s simple – there’s a stator and a rotor. Except that in a regular electric motor the rotating rotor is inside a stationary stator. In a monocoach, the stator with electromagnet windings is located on the wheel axis, and the rotor rotates around it in the form of a rim with permanent magnets. The rotation is provided by synchronized inclusion of the stator electromagnets so that they attract the permanent magnets of the rotor-rim. And the force of such attraction is not even small, as, for example, a powder magnet on the basis of magneto alloy was able to lift an object exceeding the mass of the magnet by 4450 times, and the magnet created by the Japanese with the size of one square centimeter is able to attract 900 kg of cargo.

Monocycle and mobile gadgets
But unlike a motor-wheel, a monocycle has a task not just to move, but to move with a given orientation in space – the vertical position of a monocycle rider. Previously, a similar problem had to be solved for water and air vehicles – submarines and airplanes. And it was solved with the help of a gyroscope – a device that keeps its initial orientation in space. But it only became possible to solve a similar problem in such a small size as a wheel for a one-man ride after the advent of MEMS sensors (microelectromechanical systems), which have become widespread in smartphones and tablets.

So how does the gyroscope in a monocycle work? Like walking. But unlike walking, when using a monocycle (another name for a monocycle), a person’s legs do not move, but stand on special footrests (like pedals) attached to a high-strength plastic body that covers the rotor-rod and stator of the electric motor. When walking, in order not to fall when leaning forward, a person puts his foot up. With a monocoach, everything changes. When a person leans forward, the weight is transferred to the front of the foot, the footrest and the wheel stator will turn in the direction of the lean.

The monocycle and the computer
In the process of learning to ride a monocycle, there is essentially a synchronization of the internal gyroscope of the human vestibular apparatus with the gyroscope of this miracle machine. Such synchronization requires good speed and would not be possible without the development of microprocessor and computer technology. This is why a special on-board computer performs wheel control. But the computer is most likely a distant relative, as it cannot perform the main purpose of the wheel – rolling. However, the presence of a computer in the design of the monowheel also allows providing audio accompaniment, even playing music, for which audio system speakers are installed in the body. In addition, a computer combined with a wireless communication channel can link the wheel control system with the monocycle rider’s mobile device and, among other things, enable security systems.

The monocycle and the bicycle
Finally, a rim with a tire and an air-inflated rubber tube have been introduced into the monocycle design from a bicycle and a car. This allows you to cushion small bumps and jumps when rolling over small pavement irregularities. But, of course, it is the bicycle, or rather its one-wheeled representative – unicycle, is the distant ancestor of the monocycle, in fact unicycle with an electric motor.

Gyroscooter is a two-wheeled scooter, self-balancing scooter – personal electric vehicle in the form of a transverse bar with two wheels on the sides, and gyrocycles have high handles, which you can hold on to. A very modern sports toy, a type of transport, entertainment for young people.

Uses electric motors powered by an electric battery and a number of gyroscopic sensors for self-balancing and maintaining the horizontal position of the platform for the feet.

The invention dates back to the 1990s, when the first prototypes of vehicles using automatic balancing systems in their design appeared.

Progenitor of the modern gyrotransporta such type can be called the invention of the famous Segway. This device also has two wheels and a platform for the feet. Sometimes the model can even be equipped with a seat.

The first modern gyroscooters began to appear quite recently, in early 2014 x years. Several Korean and Chinese companies took up mass production and modernization of existing prototypes.

If we talk about quality, by 2016 there are already very decent models on sale, which are really great to ride.

A gyro scooter consists of several elements:

The control device that processes the information coming from the sensors;

There may be additional devices: display, remote control, Bluetooth module, speakers for music, lights, etc. Different manufacturers can offer different “trimmings”.

How to ride a gyroscooter
The management of the gyroscooter is not hand-arm control, but the movement of the body weight from side to side, like on a skateboard, so you need the knack to cope with the management, but it is easily acquired. For forward movement you have to lean in the appropriate direction, for braking and backward movement – vice versa. Turns are made by shifting body weight in the right direction. In general, everything is simple and logical, this machine is smart, it is interesting to operate it.

When the center of gravity of the body is moved forward gyroscopic sensors detect this movement and the motor begins to rotate forward. When the body is tilted forward, the device moves straight ahead.

Leaning back, the user sets the motion in the opposite direction, the scooter rides backwards.

When transferring the body weight on one leg, only one motor is turned on and the gyro scooter turns.

All actions of the control device and motors occur in a fraction of a second, almost instantaneously, without delay.

Usually after just a few minutes of practice a beginner is already confidently standing on a gyroscooter.

Safety
Gyroscooter and some other modern inventions – transport is quite dangerous. In many countries the use of gyroscooters and hoverboards was banned both on roads and on sidewalks (the ban is in force in the UK, it is allowed to use them only in private areas with the consent of the owner). So you shouldn’t ride these devices on the roads. But for the park or playground they are just perfect.

Falls from gyroscooters (especially at speed) can lead to serious injuries, including fractures, but this applies to any transport – from skateboards to bicycles. You need a helmet, elbow and knee protection, and wrist protection, just like with roller skates. But if you look at the skaters, you will not find anyone wearing protection, it is rarely used.

And in general, if you have a place where you can ride, gyroscuter – a great buy for a teenager, which is much more interesting than any skateboard. This is the best buy for the summer. The main thing – first determine where you can ride it!
